Since childhood, my Art has always been an expression of my
inner feelings and the path to the personal reality I strive
to communicate. Obviously my perceptions have evolved, but my
style has remained consistent even during and after my formal
education. These perceptions which often manifest themselves
in images come from a darker side which I explore before using
my senses to synthesize them with my immediate environment no
matter how mundane the subjects may seem. This filtering process
offers the means by which my individuality becomes universal.
Charcoal
is the medium through which these sensibilities can best be
expressed even though I have become proficient in other media
including oils, watercolors, photography and sculpture. The
dreamlike quality of images presented in charcoal most readily
combine and define the darker aspects of an inner vision with
light study. The unique style which I continue to develop has
been greatly inspired by both Frida Kahlo and Salvador Dali
whom I use in my ongoing search of expressing the collective
unconscious through symbolic and dreamlike imagery.
My
current works include visual commentaries of politics, religion,
technology and the effects of mass media. I am most interested
in showing my work at galleries.
